How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate Technical Engineer x5

Technical Support | SaaS | Cloud | AI | Machine Learning | Data Applications, IoT |Future Career Pathways

    Berkshire | Hybrid, 3–4 Days | £35,000–£38,000 | Permanent

Your first role in technology doesn't have to define where you finish. It should give you the foundations to get there.

Our client is an award-winning technology company developing enterprise software used by organisations across the UK and internationally.

They are looking for five high-calibre STEM graduates to join their Technical Engineering team.

This is fundamentally a technical support and problem-solving role, working with complex enterprise software and live customer environments.

But it is also a starting point.

You'll build an understanding of the technology, products, customers and systems that can open future career paths into areas including Software Development, Data Science, Product Management and Project Management.

    What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside experienced technical teams, you'll:

Investigate and resolve technical issues across enterprise software platforms

Diagnose faults and identify the root cause of problems

Analyse system behaviour, performance and technical data

Support cloud-based applications and business-critical systems

Work with Engineering and Development teams to resolve more complex issues

Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users

Document issues, solutions and technical findings

Develop a detailed understanding of how enterprise software works in the real world

    This isn't scripted helpdesk support.

You'll be expected to think, investigate, question and solve problems.

    The Technology

You'll gain exposure to an unusually broad technology environment, including:

    Artificial Intelligence | Machine Learning | NLP | SaaS | Cloud | IoT | M2M | UCaaS | CCaaS | Cyber Security | Enterprise Software | IT Infrastructure

You'll also work around technologies and development environments that can include:

    Python | C# | .NET | Java | JavaScript | TypeScript | React | C++ | SQL

You are not expected to know everything on that list.

We're looking for technical potential, not the finished article.

    Where Could It Lead?

This is what makes the opportunity particularly interesting.

As your technical and commercial understanding develops, potential career routes can include:

    → Software Development

→ Data Science / AI & Machine Learning

    → Product Management

    → Project Management

→ Senior Technical / Engineering roles

Progression isn't automatic or predetermined. It will depend on your performance, strengths and the direction you want to develop.

    Who Are We Looking For?

    You'll ideally have:

First Class or 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or another relevant STEM discipline

Strong pre-university academics, ideally A–C A-Levels or BTEC Distinction

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability

    A genuine interest in technology

The patience and curiosity to investigate difficult technical problems

    Strong communication skills

The ability to explain technical information clearly

Ambition to build a long-term career within technology

    Useful, but not essential

    Programming or coding experience

Python, C#, Java, C++, JavaScript or similar

    SQL/database knowledge

    GitHub or personal technical projects

    Cloud technology exposure

Previous technical support, placement or internship experience

    What's On Offer?

    £35,000–£38,000 starting salary

    Permanent position

    Structured training and mentoring

Hands-on experience with complex enterprise technology

Exposure to SaaS, Cloud, AI and modern communications platforms

Experience working alongside Software Engineering and other specialist teams

    Multiple potential long-term career pathways

Excellent progression within a growing international technology business

Berkshire | Hybrid, typically 3–4 days in the office

    The important bit

Don't apply because you want "any graduate job in tech."

Apply if you enjoy understanding why something isn't working, have the persistence to find the answer and want a role that can become the foundation for a much broader career in technology
