How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, building machinery, and working directly with customers? We're looking for a Sealer Support Technician to join a growing specialist manufacturing business. This is a varied role combining workshop-based engineering with customer site visits across the UK, giving you the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while working on innovative packaging machinery. With all travel expenses covered and the chance to make a real impact, this is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer looking for a rewarding and diverse position. 

    The Role
    As a Sealer Support Technician, you'll be responsible for supporting customers, assembling and maintaining sealing equipment, carrying out calibrations and repairs, and assisting with the continuous improvement of machinery and processes.

    Key Responsibilities
    Build, assemble and test sealing machinery from technical drawings.
    Carry out equipment calibrations, servicing and repairs both in-house and at customer sites. 
    Manage spare parts stock levels and complete regular stock checks. 
    Support customers with technical enquiries via phone and email. 
    Assist with the development and improvement of packaging machinery and production equipment.
    About You
    We're looking for a practical and organised engineer with strong technical knowledge and excellent problem-solving abilities.

    Apprenticeship-trained engineer or qualified to HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline. 
    Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC systems.
    Ability to read and work from technical drawings. 
    Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach. 
    Competent using Microsoft Office and maintaining technical records.
