How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor

    Amazing new opportunity to work with a huge tier 1 main contractor contributing to a huge scheme in Ipswich!

    About the role of Quantity Surveyor

    Our client is a huge tier 1 main contractor with an outstanding turnover of over £1 billion and have a profit of over £24 million. They are a very cash rich business! They have work secured for a minimum of 5 years in the Ipswich area.

    They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to be site based on a £40 mill new build construction project. They are looking for a degree qualified surveyor with experience with a tier 1 or 2 background. They are looking for a surveyor to be able to commute to Ipswich or consider lodging in Ipswich.

    Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor

    Attend site every day to familiarise and gain understanding of the project
    Assess variation claims received engaging with the site team
    Prepare and issue CVR's
    Final account process including the issue, negotiation and agreement with the Senior Quantity Surveyor
    Identify and collate appropriate tender documents and send out trade enquiries to subcontractors for pricing

    Requirements for Quantity Surveyor

    Live within commutable distance to Ipswich
    Construction related degree
    Ideally 4 - 5 years with a tier 1 or 2 main contractor
