How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Lead Early Years Assessor

    Location: Brighton

    Salary: £32k - £35k

    Company Overview

    Our client is a Training Provider dedicated to providing high-quality and professional apprenticeships. They work in partnership with employers and further education colleges to provide relevant and valuable training to develop the next generation of professionals.

    Main Purpose of the Role

    The Lead Early Years Assessor has the main responsibility for the delivery of high-quality training and assessments within agreed timescales and to nationally recognised standards.

    The Lead Early Years Assessor will be responsible for monitoring Apprentice learning and progress throughout the programme, reporting progress in the agreed format and meeting all agreed reporting deadlines.

    The role provides growth, with the opportunity to progress into managing a small team.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    People

    * Deliver classroom-based and workshop sessions to Apprentices associated with our client.

    * Ensure each group follows the agreed programme and schedule.

    * Actively support fellow members within your team.

    * Report Apprentice issues to the Curriculum Manager.

    * Address unwanted behaviours and classroom management issues in accordance with agreed procedures.

    * Mentor Apprentices to help them achieve and develop the professional skills required for the workplace.

    * Mark all Apprentice assessments and provide appropriate feedback to individuals.

    * Continually review and develop support resources for Apprentices.

    * Ensure your own skills and knowledge are kept up to date and remain relevant.

    * Promote an open safeguarding culture where the protection of Learners is at the forefront.

    * Remain vigilant and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and disclosures, ensuring these are reported in accordance with agreed procedures.

    Quality

    * Monitor the progress of Apprentices allocated to you.

    * Ensure all necessary assessments of Apprentices are completed and report any issues to the IQA Manager.

    * Ensure Apprentice registers are completed daily and that any absence is reported to the Learner Support Manager.

    * Maintain appropriate tracking systems and procedures relating to quality, compliance, management, delivery and assessment.

    * Ensure compliance with all business systems and procedures.

    * Carry out Apprentice reviews as required.

    * Attend all meetings and workshops necessary to carry out the role effectively.

    * Work within and acknowledge all Health and Safety procedures relevant to the Academy and continually reinforce these requirements with Apprentices.

    * Adhere to Equality and Diversity procedures and reinforce these requirements with Apprentices.

    Contracts and Compliance

    * Maintain an 85% retention and completion rate for Apprentices.

    * Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and used correctly at all times.

    * Ensure the entire assessment process is followed and that Apprentice portfolios are complete and kept up to date.

    * Ensure all compliance and process requirements relevant to the role, including those relating to funding partners, are met in full.

    * Remain up to date with any changes to frameworks, qualifications and assessment processes.

    Key Objectives / KPIs

    * Achieve 85% retention and completion of Apprentices.

    * Deliver all required guided learning hours for the project.

    * Ensure all documentation relating to funding and audit requirements is 100% accurate and that all claims are submitted on time to the relevant funder.

    * Ensure training delivery and required assessments are completed in a timely manner and in line with the agreed scheme of work.

    * Complete all mandatory Safeguarding CPD and feedback by the deadlines set.
