How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Resident Liaison Officer
    Location: Waterloo, London
    Sector: Construction / Refurbishment / Resident Engagement

    The Opportunity
    Hill McGlynn are currently working with an established construction contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Resident Liaison Officer to join their team, based from their Waterloo head office and supporting projects across London.
     
    This is an excellent opportunity for a personable and organised Resident Liaison Officer who enjoys working directly with residents and project teams, acting as the key point of contact throughout construction and refurbishment works.
     
    You will play an important role in ensuring residents are kept fully informed, concerns are dealt with professionally and disruption is managed effectively throughout the delivery of works.
     
    The Role
    As Resident Liaison Officer, you will provide the link between residents, site teams and the wider business, ensuring clear communication and a positive resident experience throughout each project.
    Key responsibilities will include:

    Acting as the primary point of contact for residents throughout construction and refurbishment works.
    Building positive and professional relationships with residents and local stakeholders.
    Keeping residents informed of upcoming works, programmes and potential disruption.
    Producing and distributing resident letters, notices and project updates.
    Arranging and attending resident meetings, consultations and drop-in sessions where required.
    Liaising closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and other members of the project team.
    Coordinating access to properties and arranging appointments with residents.
    Managing resident enquiries, concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
    Maintaining accurate records of resident communications, appointments and issues.
    Identifying vulnerable residents or those requiring additional support and ensuring appropriate arrangements are made.
    Monitoring resident satisfaction and supporting the resolution of any issues arising during the works.
    Supporting project teams in minimising disruption to residents.
    Ensuring resident liaison procedures and company standards are consistently followed. About You
    We are looking for a confident, approachable and highly organised individual who can build strong relationships with residents while working effectively alongside busy construction teams.
     
    You will ideally have:

    Previous experience as a Resident Liaison Officer, Tenant Liaison Officer or similar customer-facing role.
    Experience working within construction, refurbishment, social housing or occupied properties would be highly advantageous.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    The confidence to deal with residents, clients and project teams at all levels.
    Strong organisation and administration skills.
    Experience handling complaints and resolving issues professionally.
    A calm and empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive situations.
    Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
    The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
