How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    C+E Driver

We are very pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our long-established, family-run client, based south of Thetford. They are looking for a reliable and professional C+E Driver to join their busy operation, carrying out multi-drop deliveries of steel products to customers across the region.

    The Role

As a C+E Driver, your main responsibilities will include:

Driving a company vehicle on multi-drop delivery routes.
Completing daily vehicle checks before setting off and ensuring the vehicle and load remain safe and secure.
Following planned delivery schedules and keeping the Transport Office updated regarding any delays or issues.
Loading and unloading steel products safely at various customer sites.
Ensuring the correct materials are delivered to each customer efficiently and on time.
Providing a high standard of customer service and maintaining a polite and professional manner at all times.
Following all relevant road traffic, tachograph and health & safety legislation.
Adhering to customer site rules and company safe working procedures.
Reporting any vehicle defects, accidents, damaged goods or delivery issues to the Transport Team.
When driving duties are not available, assisting with general yard and operational duties. These duties will vary depending on the needs of the business, with appropriate training provided.

    The Ideal Candidate

A valid C+E licence, with CPC and Digital Tachograph.
Previous multi-drop delivery experience would be advantageous.
Experience handling or delivering steel products would be beneficial but is not essential.
A good understanding of driver hours, tachograph legislation and load security.
    A professional and customer-focused approach.
Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow delivery schedules and instructions.

    Salary & Benefits

The company is offering a competitive basic salary, with excellent earning potential through their overtime bonus scheme.

This is a varied role with a well-established, family-run business, offering the opportunity to become part of a friendly and experienced team while working within a busy and rewarding operation.
