How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Site Engineer/Surveyor
    We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Setting Out Site Engineer / Engineering Surveyor who is based in London has the ability to work in a dynamic environment to join our team.
    The role will involve carrying out Engineering Surveying tasks, mainly Setting Out, As-Built Surveys and Topographical Surveys on various sites across Greater London and surrounding counties. The role involves daily commute to different site and therefore a driving license and own vehicle is a must.
    The suitable Site Engineer would have completed a BTEC HND or a Degree in Civil Engineering/Land Surveying and has:
    * A full clean UK driving license and white Surveyors or Engineers CSCS Card.
    * Setting out experience using a robotic Total Station and GPS surveying equipment.
    * Surveying experience carrying out topographic and measured surveys.
    * An ability to work hard and learn to learn new skills, independently and unsupervised, as well as part of a team.
    * Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
    * Ability to work outdoors.
    * IT experience, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is a must.
    * Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
    * Excellent people, project and time management skills
    * Point coding using N4CE (preferable).
    The position is suitable for a Site Engineer who has a minimum 2 years experience within the civil engineering industry and looking to work in a wide ranging environment on some of the largest projects across the UK.
