How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Client: A specialist engineering and construction support company delivering a range of technical and project-related services across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. The business works closely with clients, contractors, and project teams to provide practical, efficient, and quality-focused solutions that support the successful delivery of complex projects. With experience operating in fast-paced project environments, the company is recognised for its collaborative approach, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting programme, safety, and performance requirements while supporting projects from planning through to completion.
    Role: Mechanical Construction Manager - West London - £350-£400 per day
    As an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for workface planning, resource allocation and management, efficient materials and resource logistics, mitigating of project risks and ensuring that highest Quality and HSE standards are met at all times throughout the project cycle. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, teams, and external partners to ensure project success while you will always uphold the company's values ensuring their reputation remains intact as a leading Engineering/Infrastructure project delivery business.
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Health & Safety
    * Lead Health and Safety as part of the SHELT3 forum and comply with all requirements of CDM, Company and client HSEQ requirements across allocated projects. Perform H&S duties as each contract requires.
    * Be an ambassador for great Health & safety performance and make sure that all under your control go home safely to their loved ones each and every day.
    Project Set Up
    * Contribute to the validation of the project as agreed in the project kick-off meeting.
    * Lead the planning and execution of the installation, commissioning, and handover of the project. Must have a detailed understanding of the project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with other project and client stakeholders.
    * Contribute to the production of the Construction Programme and collaborate with Planner to update programme.
    * Develop detailed project construction plans using all agreed aspects of the Company Project Delivery System (EPDS) with productivity and efficiency in mind on everything that we do.
    * Review designs and drawings in good time to make sure that Company drawings give the site team the opportunity to install right first time, are error free and consider efficient working practices.
    Project Delivery
    * Co-ordinate all works on site through supervision, sub-contractors and other project stakeholders, ensure that all materials, plant, equipment, and tools are in the right place at the right time. This includes liaison with any Subcontractors in their equivalent plans.
    * Ensure that HSEQ standard are exceeded at all times, set the project up to achieve exemplar visual standards and then make sure that all RAMS, Permits, ITP’s and any client specific requirements are met. It is your job to ensure that our Site Supervisors are aligned with your goals in their responsibilities and accountability.
    * Deliver to the required project commercial outcome Gross Margin, effectively managing change control and ability to maintain commercial entitlement for both time and cost.
    * Maintain contemporaneous records as defined by the form of contract and also as set out in the Commercial Golden Rules from the project validation.
    Reporting
    * Prepare contribution to the weekly and monthly progress reports as set out by the Project Manager.
    * Review all shift reports from previous night/day and confirm when Document Controller can upload.
    * Record progress against construction programme with the planner and attend weekly progress/planning meetings.
    Client Relationships
    * Maintain effective proactive client communication and be an ambassador for the Company with clients, potential clients, and all stakeholders.
    Business Interface
    * Collaborate with key business and support functions to support sector delivery. Strategise, develop, and maintain the sector supply chain with Procurement. Share best practices and support the Project Manager with identifying risks and opportunities, proactively identify solutions and mitigation strategies. Escalate only where necessary, with clear rationale and proposed actions. Share best practices and lessons learnt.
    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
    * Progressed from a tools background and have good technical knowledge of mechanical services.
    * Experience working in the commercial / infrastructure sector.
    * Experience managing projects to a minimum of £2M within your own discipline.
    * A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role.
