How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Technical Engineer OD (Operational Designated) Salary: Competitive Salary + Car + an excellent benefits package

    As Technical Engineer – OD (Operational Designated), you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of high-voltage (VCB) systems across Scania UK, with a key focus on supporting our transition to a fully EV-ready organisation.

    Working closely with Health & Safety, Network Development, Transformation and the Scania Learning Academy, you’ll drive the development of safe working practices, technical competence and EV capability across our network.

    You’ll also provide technical expertise to the wider Technical Team, supporting technical queries, quality issues and sharing knowledge across the business.

    In this role you will:

    Further Develop and maintain Scania UK’s electrical organisation and EV readiness across the network.
    Support the Implementation and maintenance of Safe Systems of Work for high-voltage electrical and BEV activities.
    Act as the key technical point of contact for branches on electrical safety, EV capability and safe working practices.
    Work with Branch Managers, Regional Directors and Training to ensure the right skills, training, equipment and competence are in place.
    Ensure compliance with UK electrical safety legislation, Scania standards and reporting requirements.
    Maintain the BEV readiness documentation and network compliance reporting.
    Plan and support network audits, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where required.
    Ensure branches have the appropriate tools, PPE and safety equipment to support safe electrical working.
    Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the safe servicing and repair of electric vehicles.
    Collaborate with Scania factory teams and franchise partners to share best practice and standards.
    Support the wider Technical Team with technical queries, quality deviations, caseloads and VOR cases.  

    About you:

    Qualified – able to demonstrate a proven track record in EV repair and diagnostics, or Technical Engineering.
    Influential & strong Negotiator - The ability to positively influence decisions, behaviours and outcomes to achieve business objectives and promote safe and effective ways of working.
    Communication- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, adapting your approach to suit different stakeholders, colleagues and customers.
    Collaborative and influential style – able to work cross-functionally, influence senior stakeholders, and empower Sales and Retail teams to consistently deliver EV focused solutions  

    Results Orientated - A focus on achieving meaningful goals and outcomes, with the ability to see the bigger picture, take accountability and make decisions that move the business forward.
