Instead, you will work within dedicated specialist environments supporting children who require a more bespoke approach to learning, communication and emotional regulation.Many pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require additional support to access education successfully.The Pupils You Will SupportChildren within these provisions may have:

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
ADHD
Communication and Interaction Needs
Speech and Language Difficulties
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Sensory Processing Difficulties
Challenging BehaviourMany classes operate with high adult-to-pupil ratios, allowing staff to provide tailored support and interventions throughout the school day.Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you could be:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1, 2:1 or small group basis
Helping pupils develop communication, social and life skills
Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
Delivering structured interventions under teacher guidance
Working alongside teachers, SENDCOs, therapists and pastoral teams
Assisting with sensory activities and personalised learning programmes
Supporting pupils during breaktimes, lunch and transitions
