How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Business Development Manager – Food & Drink Manufacturing

    Bristol | Hybrid – 3 Days Office-Based | £45,000–£50,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance
    UK & International Travel

Want a sales role where you can win new business, grow major accounts and genuinely influence growth?

We’re recruiting a Business Development Manager for an established and rapidly expanding food & drink manufacturing business. This is a brand-new role created due to growth, giving you the opportunity to make the role your own and have a direct impact on commercial performance.

You’ll combine new business development with strategic account growth, working alongside Technical, R&D and NPD teams to turn customer needs into commercially successful solutions.

    YOUR MISSION

Win new customers and open new markets across the UK and internationally
Own and grow a portfolio of key customer accounts
Build relationships with buyers, decision-makers and senior stakeholders
Turn qualified leads into profitable sales
Identify opportunities to increase revenue, margin and customer share
Develop direct customers, agents, distributors and strategic partners
Lead customer meetings, presentations and commercial negotiations
Work with Technical, R&D and NPD to develop solutions customers actually want
Manage the sales pipeline and keep CRM activity sharp and up to date
Plan and deliver UK and international customer visits
Become a commercial expert across the company's product portfolio
    WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We want a commercially hungry, customer-focused sales professional who enjoys opening doors, building relationships and closing opportunities.

    You’ll ideally have:

2+ years’ experience in Sales, Business Development or Account Management
Food, drink, FMCG or manufacturing experience
A proven track record of winning and growing business
Strong commercial, negotiation and influencing skills
Confidence presenting to customers and senior stakeholders
Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM
    Excellent organisation and follow-through
    A proactive, self-starting approach
The ability to work collaboratively with Technical, R&D and NPD
A willingness to travel across the UK and internationally
    WHY THIS ROLE?

This isn’t a role where you simply manage an existing customer list.

You’ll be expected to grow it.

You’ll join a business that is expanding rapidly, with the freedom and responsibility to identify opportunities, develop relationships and deliver measurable commercial growth.

    THE PACKAGE

    £45,000–£50,000 basic
    Bonus scheme
    Car allowance
    Hybrid working – 3 days office-based
    UK & international travel
    Growing, established business
Newly created role with genuine commercial ownership
Opportunity to make a visible impact on business growth
    READY TO GROW SOMETHING BIG?

If you’re an ambitious Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Key Account Manager or National Account Manager ready to take ownership, win business and drive growth within the food & drink sector, we want to hear from you.
