How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Safe Neighbourhoods and Support Service are looking for a Safe Neighbourhoods Assistant to join their team in Oldham on a full‑time, permanent basis. This role offers hybrid working; blending office days with working from home.

The Safe Neighbourhoods and Support Service is a specialist team responsible for managing complex anti-social behaviour cases, legal matters, fraud, domestic abuse, safeguarding concerns and wider support needs to help residents maintain a safe and secure home.

In this role you will support the team by allocating cases, managing the initial contact with residents who report noise nuisance, and providing administrative support such as raising purchase orders. You will work closely with a team of skilled Officers.

    What we are looking for

We are a resident‑focussed organisation, so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You will not only be highly organised and able to work well in a fast‑paced environment, but you will also have great customer service skills and a willingness to support residents and colleagues professionally and confidently. You will also be able to demonstrate:

Proven experience of delivering high-quality service in a customer focused environment.
Proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information.
    Good attention to detail.
    Excellent oral and written communications.
Good ability to learn new systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience of administrative systems and procedures.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    An understanding of social housing.
To find out more about the key responsibilities of this position and to ensure you meet the essential criteria, please review the role profile.

Please apply with a CV and a covering letter detailing how you meet the essential criteria.

For candidates who are shortlisted, interviews will take place at our Oldham office, week commencing 7 th September 2026.
