Location: Swinton
Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: 39.5 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00am–4:00pm or 8:00am–5:00pm; Friday early finish at 12:30pm or 1:30pm
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and accurate Stock Controller to manage day-to-day stock control, warehouse administration and data entry, with a particular focus on Sage.
You will ensure physical stock and system records remain accurate and up to date, working closely with purchasing, production, sales and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate stock records and record all stock movements promptly.
Enter goods received, transfers, adjustments and other transactions into Sage.
Process purchase orders, delivery notes and stock documentation.
Carry out stock checks, cycle counts and assist with stock takes.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and Sage.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages, excess stock or discrepancies.
Maintain accurate product, part number and supplier information.
Produce stock reports and provide information to management.
Liaise with relevant departments to resolve stock queries.
Maintain organised paperwork and electronic records.
Support general warehouse administration and follow all health and safety procedures.
Sage & Data Entry
Accurate data entry is a key part of the role, including:
Recording goods received and stock movements.
Updating stock quantities and locations.
Processing stock adjustments.
Checking information against purchase orders, delivery notes and physical stock.
Maintaining accurate product and part-number information.
Investigating discrepancies and producing stock reports.
Person Specification
Essential
Previous experience in stock control, warehouse administration, inventory or a similar role.
Experience using Sage or a similar stock/accounting system, or the ability to learn quickly.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good numerical, organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
Manufacturing or engineering experience.
Experience using Sage for stock control and data entry.
Experience with stock takes, cycle counting and investigating discrepancies.
Understanding of purchase orders, goods received and stock movements.
Forklift or warehouse experience.
