Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their Main Contracts team, working on projects valued up to £15m across the Home Counties, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire and North London.
Reporting to the Main Contracts Director, you will lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring designs are technically compliant, buildable and delivered in line with programme, budget and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the design process from tender and pre-construction through to completion and handover.
* Coordinate external design consultants including architects, structural and M&E engineers and specialist consultants.
* Work closely with internal project and commercial teams.
* Manage technical submittals, RFIs, drawing registers and design information release schedules.
* Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations, CDM 2015, warranty requirements and, where applicable, the Building Safety Act.
* Identify and manage design risks, buildability issues and value engineering opportunities.
* Develop and manage design programmes aligned with the overall construction programme.
* Chair and attend design team meetings, managing actions through to completion.
* Support tender and estimating activities, including reviewing Employer's Requirements and developing Contractor's Proposals.
* Manage design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
* Liaise closely with clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure design intent is successfully delivered on site.
Qualifications & Requirements
* HNC/HND or degree in Architecture, Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Current, appropriate CSCS card, supported by a recognised qualification.
* SMSTS desirable.
* Full UK driving licence.

You must also be willing to undergo DBS, BPSS and/or other client-led security vetting or clearance checks where required.

* £60,000 – £75,000 salary, depending on experience
