How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the School

Lime Tree Education Search is supporting a highly regarded specialist school in Hackney which provides education and support for around 200 children and young people with autism.

The school provides a supportive, professional and welcoming environment for its pupils and staff, and is looking for an experienced administrator to join its team for at least one term with possibility to extend.

This is a varied and interesting role within a busy school environment, offering the opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher and wider school team across a broad range of administrative responsibilities.

    The Role

The school is looking for a confident and capable all-round administrator who can provide excellent day-to-day administrative support while also acting as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for the school.

    The role will include:

Providing a warm, professional and confident front-of-house presence
Acting as a first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff and external professionals
Managing telephone calls, emails and general enquiries
Providing general administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team
Maintaining accurate records, databases and documentation
Supporting HR administration, including staff records, starters, leavers, references and pre-employment checks
    Preparing correspondence, documents and spreadsheets
Supporting recruitment and onboarding administration where required
    Handling confidential information appropriately
Using Microsoft Office and school/HR systems effectively
Assisting with a range of other administrative tasks across the school About You

We are looking for an experienced administrator who is professional, organised, personable and confident, with the ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively with people at all levels.

    You will ideally have:

Strong general administration experience - preferably within a school
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
A confident, friendly and professional manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
    Experience handling confidential information
The confidence to use initiative and work independently
Experience of HR administration would be highly desirable The Person

The school is looking for someone with a solid professional character who will quickly become a trusted member of the team.

You will be someone who is approachable and positive, confident dealing with people, highly organised and happy to turn your hand to a wide range of tasks.

The ideal person will bring a good level of experience, sound judgement and strong IT skills, while being equally comfortable welcoming a visitor at reception, dealing with an administrative query or getting stuck into the detail behind the scenes.

If you are an experienced administrator who enjoys variety and takes pride in doing things properly, this is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist school with a strong sense of purpose and a welcoming professional environment.

The role is full-time, five days per week and based on-site in Hackney. The initial requirement is for at least one term.

The school is looking to appoint as soon as possible.

If you are available immediately or at short notice and looking for your next temporary assignment, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now for immediate consideration.

The appointment will be subject to safer recruitment process, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
