P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently recruiting for a Electrical Design Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time, permanent basis.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the full design process, from initial sales enquiry through to production, manufacture, site assembly and installation.
* Produce technical drawings, production drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to meet customer requirements.
* Create and maintain electrical and mechanical drawings for standard products and customer-specific projects.
* Control, revise and maintain all technical drawings and project documentation throughout the design and development process.
* Provide timely technical solutions to overcome design and manufacturing challenges while meeting budget and customer requirements.
* Research and identify suitable components and suppliers, maintaining positive supplier relationships and resolving technical issues.
* Develop and maintain technical specifications required for product manufacture.
* Ensure designs and manufacturing processes comply with relevant British and International Standards, keeping standards and specifications regularly reviewed and up to date.
* Support the Sales and Manufacturing teams with technical information and solutions.
Person Specification:
* Minimum HND in an electrical engineering discipline.
* 2-3 years recent experience of using AutoCAD Electrical.
* Knowledge of electrical project drawings.
* Knowledge of Oil & Gas and Maritime Industries.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and on project teams.
* Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
* A pro-active approach to role tasks.
* An ability to take a logical approach to role tasks.
Working Hours & Benefits:
* Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week
* Flexible start time between 08:00-09:00 and finish between 16:00-17:00
* Overtime subject to project requirements – paid at enhanced rate where applicable.
* Holiday entitlement 33 days per year (8 statutory, 3 taken for Christmas shut down).
