How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEMH Teaching Assistant Required We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Year 10 pupil on a 1:1 basis across two specialist education settings in Reading and Wokingham.
    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
    The Role As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 10 student, helping them to engage positively with learning, manage their emotions, and achieve their educational goals.
    The successful candidate will work:

    Thursday and Friday in a specialist SEMH School in Reading
    Monday to Wednesday in a school based in Wokingham
    Supporting the same pupil across both settings
    Building positive relationships and promoting emotional wellbeing
    Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions
    Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in education
    Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teamsThe Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who:

    Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, SEND, behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs
    Is calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations
    Can build strong and trusting relationships with young people
    Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
