How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Your new school

    Hays Education is supporting friendly primary schools across Sheldon and the wider B26 area as they prepare for the new academic year. We are looking for caring, dependable Teaching Assistants who can become a valued part of school life from September 2026.You may already have classroom experience, or you might be looking to build on your work with children in another setting. Either way, if you are patient, positive and keen to help pupils thrive, this could be the next step for you.

    Your new role

    You will work alongside the class teacher to help pupils feel supported, included and ready to learn. Your day may involve:

    Supporting learning and classroom activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
    Guiding small groups through focused tasks
    Offering individual support to pupils who need extra encouragement
    Helping children develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits
    Contributing to a calm, welcoming and inclusive classroom
    Supporting classroom organisation and everyday routinesFull-time and part-time options are available, including long-term assignments and roles with the potential to become permanent.

    What you'll need to succeed

    Schools are particularly interested in people who bring the right attitude as well as relevant experience. You should:

    Have supported children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting
    Genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and feel confident
    Communicate well and work positively as part of a team
    Be dependable, flexible and ready to use your initiative
    Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 TA, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent qualificationWhat you'll get in return
