We are looking for an experienced Commercial & Domestic Gas Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong mechanical and heating background to work across a varied portfolio of prestigious sites.
As part of the Service & Maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to mechanical services, working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
We have a busy and expanding Service & Maintenance Department, working with a diverse range of private and commercial clients. Our portfolio includes large private residences, colleges and universities, pharmaceutical facilities, and a wide variety of other commercial environments.
The role will involve travelling to sites across the central and southern counties, generally within an 80-mile radius of Oxford. A company van will be provided for business travel.
Key Responsibilities
•Carry out planned preventative maintenance on boilers, heating, plumbing and ventilation systems.
•Attend breakdowns, repairs and reactive maintenance call-outs.
•Diagnose faults and undertake effective fault-finding.
•Participate in the 24/7 call-out rota on a rotational basis.
•Carry out installation and modification of pipework and plumbing systems.
•Replace and repair electro-mechanical equipment and components.
•Undertake mechanical and heating small works.
•Complete service reports and relevant site documentation.
•Assist with the preparation and submission of quotations for remedial and additional works.
•Work safely and professionally while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
•Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications & Training
•Indentured apprenticeship.
•City & Guilds / NVQ qualification.
•Boiler / Burner training.
•Gas Safe registered – Domestic & Commercial works and pipework.
•OFTEC.
•Unvented hot water qualification.
•18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations – advantageous.
•Health & Safety training.
•BMS & Controls experience – advantageous.
While the above qualifications and experience are preferred, they are not all essential. Additional training can be provided, and we would consider candidates who require full training where they demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude and commitment.
You should be able to demonstrate a proven employment history and practical experience in:
•Mechanical maintenance.
•Heating systems.
•Planned and reactive maintenance.
•Fault finding and repairs.
•Small works and installations.
•Commercial and/or domestic building services.
