How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Technician

    Glenrothes, Fife
    4-day working week | Rotating Days & Nights

    We are recruiting for a Quality Technician to join an established manufacturing business based in Glenrothes.

    This is a hands-on role working closely with Production to ensure materials and finished products meet the required quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

    What you'll be doing

    Inspecting and testing incoming raw materials
    Carrying out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
    Testing and inspecting finished products against specifications
    Recording test and inspection results accurately
    Identifying and reporting non-conforming materials or products
    Supporting investigations into quality issues, customer complaints and returns
    Maintaining quality and inspection documentation
    Working closely with Production and other departments to resolve quality issues
    Supporting audits and working within established quality procedures
    Contributing to continuous improvement activities

    What we're looking for

    We are interested in speaking with candidates who have some practical experience of quality, inspection or testing within a manufacturing or production environment.

    Experience of the following would be beneficial:

    Product or material inspection and testing
    Working to specifications and quality standards
    Non-conformances or quality investigations
    ISO or other Quality Management Systems
    Recording and maintaining quality documentation
    Using inspection or testing equipment
    Continuous improvementSome training can be provided, and the company is particularly interested in people with the right attitude, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

    Once trained, you will need to be comfortable working independently and making appropriate quality decisions during your shift.

    Hours & Shift Pattern

    Following an initial 4-6 week training period working Monday-Friday on day shift, you will move onto an alternating days and nights pattern:

    Week 1: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-6:00pm
    Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 6:00pm-6:00am
