How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary Intervention & Catch-Up Teaching Assistant**
    **September 2026 | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunities | Aspire People**

    Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who particularly enjoys **helping pupils close gaps in their learning**?

    Aspire People are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants with strong intervention experience to support primary schools from September 2026.

    This role would suit someone who enjoys working with pupils on a **1:1 and small-group basis**, particularly those who need additional support with Reading, Phonics, Maths or Writing.

    Rather than simply providing general classroom support, you'll play an important role in helping pupils identify areas for development and build the confidence and skills they need to make progress.

    **The Role:**

    * Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
    * Supporting pupils with Reading and comprehension
    * Delivering phonics and early reading support
    * Supporting Maths and numeracy interventions
    * Helping pupils develop writing skills
    * Identifying and supporting gaps in learning
    * Adapting activities to individual pupil needs
    * Monitoring progress and feeding back to teaching staff
    * Supporting pupils with SEND where required
    * Building confidence, independence and engagement

    **We're Looking For:**

    * Level 2/3 TA qualification or relevant experience
    * Recent UK primary school experience
    * Previous intervention experience
    * Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
    * Good knowledge of phonics, Reading, English and Maths
    * Patient and encouraging approach
    * Ability to build strong relationships with pupils
    * Good communication and teamwork skills

    Experience supporting **Pupil Premium pupils, SEND or children working below age-related expectations** would be particularly beneficial.

    **Why Aspire People?**

    * September 2026 opportunities
    * Long-term and permanent positions
    * Full-time opportunities
    * Access to a wide range of primary schools
    * Competitive rates of pay
    * Dedicated consultant support
    * Opportunities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2

    If you're a Teaching Assistant who gets genuine satisfaction from **seeing pupils make progress and overcome barriers to learning**, we'd love to hear from you.

    **Apply today or contact Aspire People to discuss the opportunities available for September.**
