How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    It can also provide valuable experience if you're considering a longer-term career in **education, SEND, Educational Psychology, teaching, pastoral support or potentially progressing towards a SENCO role**.

    **The Role:**

    * Providing 1:1 and small-group support
    * Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
    * Helping children develop emotional regulation strategies
    * Supporting classroom learning and targeted interventions
    * Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
    * Supporting behaviour and engagement
    * Working alongside teachers and SENCOs
    * Encouraging independence, confidence and resilience
    * Monitoring and feeding back on pupil progress

    **We're Looking For:**

    * Degree in Psychology, Child Psychology or a related subject
    * Genuine interest in working with children
    * Passion for SEND and inclusive education
    * Patient, empathetic and resilient approach
    * Strong communication skills
    * Ability to build positive relationships
    * Willingness to learn and develop within a school environment

    **Why This Could Be a Great Starting Point:**

    * Gain hands-on experience working with children
    * Develop your understanding of SEND and SEMH
    * Put your psychology knowledge into practice
    * Learn from experienced teachers and SENCOs
    * Build valuable experience for future education or psychology careers
    * Potential access to long-term and permanent opportunities

    If you've recently graduated and want to turn your **Psychology degree into practical experience working with children**, this could be an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door of education.

    **Apply today or contact Aspire People to discuss the opportunities available for September 2026.**
