How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    WHO WE ARE:

At Brodie we pride ourselves on understanding the Brodie woman and helping empower her through expression of colour, shape and joyful design. We are a UK based cashmere company producing luxury and contemporary knitwear. We use the finest yarns to create ready to wear cashmere pieces. Brodie is continuously growing, developing and thriving in the Cashmere market and you will have the opportunity to see your designs being sold globally! We offer a very desirable opportunity for the correct candidate to further their career and experience within the business as it continues to expand and grow further.

    WHO WE WANT:

We are looking for an organised and passionate fashion design student to join our young and evolving team. You must be an excellent team player who is also well experienced working autonomously and as part of a team. The placement offers broad, hands-on exposure to the full fashion design and product development cycle, from initial research and concept development through to technical development, sampling, production, sales and marketing.

    THE PLACEMENT

During the placement, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Review previous collection performance, including sales data and customer feedback, to understand how commercial performance informs future design decisions.
    • Assist with seasonal trend forecasting, colour and yarn research and mood board development.
    • Support the development of design concepts, prototypes and CADs.
    • Work alongside our Design Team and Garment Technician on technical packs, measurements, construction details and product specifications.
    • Gain experience communicating with factories and suppliers throughout the development process.
    • Participate in prototype and sample reviews, considering fit, construction, quality, colour, handle and commercial viability.
    • Assist with amendments and updates following sample reviews.
    • Support the preparation and organisation of salesman sample sets for seasonal selling.
    • Work alongside our Sales Team to understand wholesale and customer feedback and how this feeds back into product development.
    • Gain exposure to the Marketing Team and the launch of new collections.
    • Support the Design Team with appropriate day-to-day projects and tasks based on the student’s experience and course requirements.

A key benefit of the placement is that you will not simply see the design process in isolation. You will gain an understanding of the commercial journey of a fashion collection, and how creative decisions are influenced by sales performance, customer feedback, production considerations and market requirements. The placement is intended to support university learning and placement-hour requirements
