How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

I am working with a market-leading Northwest law firm, renowned for its strong client service and people-focused culture, to recruit a qualified Employment Solicitor to join its collaborative Employment team. The role will involve managing a varied caseload, primarily consisting of Respondent work, advising clients across a broad range of employment matters, and supporting the development of new business opportunities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage a varied caseload, providing clear, timely and commercially focused advice to clients.
    • Liaise with clients, Counsel, experts and other parties, including attending Court and Tribunal hearings where required.
    • Work collaboratively on complex matters, supporting senior fee earners and delegating and supervising work for junior team members.
    • Ensure matters are progressed efficiently and in line with compliance requirements and relevant Court/Tribunal deadlines.
    • Contribute to client development, team targets and the wider success of the firm through collaboration and sharing expertise.

    Requirements:

    • Qualified Associate/Senior Associate Solicitor with 5–10 years’ PQE, ideally with experience in a commercial law firm and a strong background in Respondent/business client work.

    • Proven experience managing Employment Tribunal matters through to conclusion, ideally acting for Respondents, alongside experience supporting corporate transactions.
    • Strong clients focus with excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build effective client relationships.
    • Proven ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively within a team, using initiative and maintaining high standards of service.

    Benefits:

    • Hybrid working and a commitment to a maximum of 1,200 chargeable hours per year.
    • Employee bonus scheme and annual pay reviews, with a biannual promotion and salary uplift process.
