How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you experienced in demand planning, S&OP or customer supply chain?


    Do you thrive working across forecasting, customer relationships and cross-functional planning?


    Are you ready to shape how customer demand is forecast, planned and delivered within a leading food manufacturer?


    MacGregor Black are partnering with a Leading FMCG Business on the search for a Demand Planner. This is a permanent role based in Somerset.


    Key Responsibilities:


    • Own and keep the sales forecast accurate across customers and product lines.
    • Build rolling forecasts using input from customers, Commercial, Planning, Operations and Finance.
    • Main customer contact for forecasting and service performance.
    • Track forecast accuracy and bias, reduce it through consistent reporting.
    • Lead the demand side of S&OP, aligning forecasts with production capacity and stock levels.


    What We're Looking For:


    • Experience in demand planning, customer supply chain, S&OP or commercial planning.
    • FMCG, food or drinks manufacturing experience.
    • Proven track record working directly with customers on forecasts and service.
    • Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel, Power BI a plus.
    • Confident communicator, strong stakeholder management.


    Salary – up to £50k doe
