How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Company

W Talent Finance is a specialist recruitment partner dedicated to placing high-calibre accounting professionals across both practice and commerce & industry markets worldwide. With a deep understanding of the finance landscape, we support clients ranging from leading professional services firms to established regional practices and multi-service professional groups, delivering tailored talent solutions that drive business performance.

We are partnering with a well-established, award-winning independent accountancy practice with a strong local reputation and a loyal client base.

The practice has built an excellent reputation over many years for delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services to businesses and individuals. It combines the personal service and close client relationships of an independent practice with a modern, technology-led approach to the way it operates.

The business has invested heavily in its systems and technology, allowing its team to work efficiently and spend more time focused on clients. It offers a professional but down-to-earth working environment, with direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity for experienced individuals to take real ownership of their client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful practice at an important stage of its continued development and succession planning.

    The Role

As a Client Manager, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of established clients, acting as a trusted point of contact and providing a high-quality service across their accounting and tax requirements.

You will build strong, long-term relationships with business owners and individuals, understanding their circumstances and providing practical advice and support.

This is a genuinely client-facing position for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys working directly with clients and wants the autonomy to manage their own portfolio. You will work closely with the senior team and wider practice, while making full use of the firm's modern technology and systems.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of established clients across a range of sectors
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with business owners and individuals
Act as the main point of contact for clients across their accounting and tax requirements
Prepare and review company accounts and financial statements
Prepare and review personal and corporation tax returns
Prepare management accounts and other financial information where required
    Complete and review VAT returns
Provide clients with practical accounting and tax advice
Attend client meetings and develop a strong understanding of individual client businesses
Identify opportunities to provide additional services and support to clients
Manage deadlines and ensure client work is completed accurately and efficiently
Make effective use of accounting software and the firm's technology platforms
Work closely with colleagues to ensure a consistent, high-quality client service
Support and provide guidance to junior members of the team where required
Take ownership of client relationships and the delivery of work
Assist with general accountancy and advisory work as required

    About You

Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent, although strong relevant practice experience will also be considered
Minimum of 4 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice environment
Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients
Strong technical knowledge across accounts and taxation
Confident dealing directly with directors, business owners and individuals
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Commercial and practical approach to client management
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your workload
Good understanding of modern accounting software and technology
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Proactive, self-motivated and professional in approach
Strong commitment to delivering excellent client service
Someone who enjoys working with clients and building relationships rather than simply processing accounts

    What's on Offer

Competitive salary of c.£45,000, depending on experience
Opportunity to join a well-established, award-winning independent practice
Strong and loyal existing client portfolio
