How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £28,860

Location: Fulham office, London (full-time, office-based)

    Contract: Full-time, permanent

    Reporting to: Digital Editor

Country & Town House is looking for an Admin Assistant to join our growing digital editorial team. Our tagline is ‘a life in balance’ and sustainability and championing homegrown talent is at the heart of everything we do. If you want to be part of this aspirational lifestyle brand and join a growing, independently-run publishing business – we want to hear from you.

This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone at the start of their career in digital media who is organised, proactive and keen to learn. Reporting into the digital editor, you’ll provide hands-on support across our online competitions, website content and day-to-day editorial admin, helping the team run smoothly and giving you a genuine grounding in how a digital publishing operation works.

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter with a keen eye for detail, comfortable juggling several small tasks at once and happy to pitch in wherever needed, including supporting the team at events.

Here’s what a few team members recently said about working at C&TH.

“C & TH is a fun and innovative place to work at. It is fast-paced and stretching but at the same time it’s very rewarding to see the great products we produce. It has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, where everyone’s opinion counts and you feel valued as a member of the team.”

“C&TH is a company that gives you free rein to pitch new ideas and actually act on them, giving everyone a chance to shape the company they work for.”

“Working at C&TH means working with the friendliest, most generous and most passionate team in the business. We work hard, but we have a lot of fun while doing it.”

    Responsibilities

    • Sourcing, uploading and managing online competitions across the C&TH website
    • Uploading and formatting digital content onto WordPress, including images and links, to agreed style and deadlines
    • Assisting the digital editorial team with research to support features, guides and articles
    • Supporting the wider editorial team with general administrative tasks as needed
    • Helping keep online content accurate and up to date, flagging any broken links or issues
    • Other ad hoc tasks as required, including supporting the team at C&TH events

    Skills, Qualifications & Experience

    Required

    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong written English and confident proofreading skills
    • Comfortable using online platforms and happy to learn new systems, including WordPress
    • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck into a variety of tasks
    • A genuine interest in lifestyle, culture and digital media

    Desirable

    • Experience using WordPress or another content management system
    • A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
    • Previous experience in an office, editorial or admin role, including internships
