How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Interim Banking & Finance Lawyer (Corporate Lending) 6-Month Contract | London | Hybrid Working

An international financial institution is seeking an experienced Banking & Finance Lawyer to join its Transaction Management team on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with strong corporate lending experience to work on a broad range of high-value loan transactions, supporting major corporate clients and collaborating with senior stakeholders across banking, legal and origination functions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and executing corporate lending transactions ranging from approximately £10m to £750m, taking ownership of the documentation process from initial structuring through to completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the execution of bilateral and syndicated loan transactions from inception to completion.
    • Advise on transaction structuring and identify key commercial and legal risks associated with complex lending arrangements.
    • Draft, review and negotiate term sheets, facility agreements, intercreditor agreements and related financing documentation.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel throughout transactions.
    • Support internal stakeholders by interpreting legal advice and providing practical, commercial guidance on financing arrangements.
    • Ensure lending documentation aligns with internal policy requirements, credit approvals and prevailing market standards.
    • Project manage transactions through to completion and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
    • Participate in negotiations and stakeholder discussions concerning commercial, legal and policy considerations.

    Candidate Profile

    • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' PQE gained in banking and finance, leveraged finance or corporate lending.
    • Strong working knowledge of LMA documentation and the UK syndicated loan market.
    • Experience leading and managing multiple lending transactions simultaneously.
    • Ability to negotiate and advise independently on complex financing documentation from both a commercial and legal perspective.
    • Exposure to transactions such as acquisition finance, refinancings, management buyouts, sustainable-linked lending and other corporate financing structures would be advantageous.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in the UK corporate lending market.

    The Opportunity

This position offers the chance to work on a high-profile portfolio of corporate lending transactions, partnering closely with experienced banking professionals, legal teams and external advisers. It would suit a commercially minded Banking & Finance Lawyer looking to broaden their transactional exposure whilst working on sophisticated financing matters within a leading financial services environment.
