How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role Purpose

We're looking for a hands-on, digitally minded leader to build and scale a best-in-class supporter experience programme.

This is a growth-focused role for someone who enjoys creating systems, solving problems and using data to drive results. You'll own the fundraising CRM (Access ThankQ), leading the development of supporter journeys, marketing automation, data insight and digital processes that help us attract, retain and engage supporters more effectively.

Working across Fundraising and MarComms, you'll help create a culture where data, technology and supporter insight underpin everything we do.

    Key Responsibilities

Build and Scale Our CRM & Supporter Experience

    • Own and develop the fundraising CRM strategy and roadmap.
    • Design and implement automated supporter journeys and segmented communications.
    • Use data and insight to improve supporter acquisition, engagement and retention.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the supporter experience.

    Drive Digital Growth

    • Deliver targeted CRM and email marketing activity.
    • Develop reports and dashboards that provide actionable insight.
    • Ensure fundraising data is accurate, accessible and used effectively across the team.
    • Optimise digital giving platforms and supporter touchpoints.

    Enable the Department

    • Train and support colleagues to make better use of CRM, automation and data.
    • Champion self-service, digital adoption and continuous improvement.
    • Lead relationships with key suppliers including Access, Dotdigital and Woods Valldata.

    Governance and Operations

    • Act as the fundraising team's lead for GDPR and data protection.
    • Ensure compliant management of supporter data and fundraising operations.
    • Oversee efficient processes for donations, Gift Aid and supporter fulfilment.

    Person Specification

    Essential

    • Strong experience of CRM strategy, marketing automation and supporter/customer journeys.
    • Excellent understanding of data, segmentation and performance reporting.
    • Experience managing CRM systems and digital platforms.
    • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
    • Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Understanding of GDPR and data governance.

    Desirable

    • Experience of Access ThankQ.
    • Experience in fundraising, membership or supporter-led organisations.
    • Experience optimising online donation and payment platforms.
    • More efficient fundraising operations and supporter processes.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership, build capability, and use technology, data and creativity to help grow one of the UK's most iconic charities.

This is a fixed term contract for 18 months.
