How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior BIM Technician - MEP / Data Centres

London | Full-Time, Permanent | GBP 70,000 - GBP 75,000 per annum + comprehensive benefits and career development

We are recruiting an experienced Senior BIM Technician to join an established CAD, design and project delivery team in London. This is a permanent role for a technician who has built and coordinated BIM models in live MEP project environments and wants to work on complex data centre and enterprise infrastructure schemes.

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models in Revit and Navisworks, translate 2D drawings and technical information into coordinated model content, and work alongside engineers, designers and construction trades to make sure designs are fully resolved before they reach site. The role combines hands-on modelling with genuine BIM coordination responsibility: clash detection, design reviews, coordination meetings and clash close-out, all delivered in line with BIM Execution Plan requirements.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    - Develop, update and maintain detailed 3D BIM models using Revit and Navisworks

    - Translate 2D drawings and technical documentation into accurate BIM model content

    - Coordinate model content across multiple trades and disciplines

    - Add information, tagging and annotation to model components in line with project specifications

    - Maintain model quality, accuracy and consistency and apply project-specific BIM standards

    - Carry out clash detection in Navisworks, investigate conflicts and track clashes through to close-out

    - Attend BIM coordination and design review meetings and provide technical BIM input

    - Work with project and design teams to resolve coordination issues and flag design conflicts early

    - Ensure coordinated models comply with BIM Execution Plan requirements

    - Produce and update 2D drawings and layouts in AutoCAD, generated from BIM information

    - Provide technical BIM support to the wider CAD function and develop model outputs from existing 2D design information

    - Liaise with stakeholders, engineers, designers and construction trades to resolve design matters

    - Manage multiple priorities and deliver BIM information to agreed programme dates

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

    - Demonstrable experience as a BIM Technician or Senior BIM Technician within an MEP project environment

    - Strong practical knowledge of Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD

    - Experience developing 3D BIM models from 2D drawings and technical documentation

    - Proven ability to coordinate models across multiple trades and disciplines

    - Clash detection and coordination experience using Navisworks

    - Understanding of BIM Execution Plans and project BIM standards

    - Previous construction industry experience and experience working with multiple professional trades

    - Experience producing 2D technical drawings

    - Good understanding of technical design principles and industry standards

    - Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Visio and PowerPoint

    - Valid CSCS card

    - Strong written and verbal communication, excellent organisation and attention to detail

    - Able to manage demanding workloads, work independently and contribute to a wider project team

    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

    - Previous experience on data centre or enterprise infrastructure projects

    - Knowledge of IT infrastructure within data centre and enterprise environments

    - Producing drawings for structured cabling installations, including floor plans and building schematics

    - Developing cabinet and frame layouts and cable density drawings

    - Creating detailed installation drawings, pre-termination schedules and isometric diagrams

    - Coordinating structured cabling requirements within BIM models

    - Understanding of how IT infrastructure interfaces with MEP and wider building services

    WHAT IS ON OFFER

    - GBP 70,000 - GBP 75,000 per annum

    - Comprehensive benefits package

    - Structured career development and progression

    - Exposure to major data centre and enterprise infrastructure projects

    - A technically strong team with real ownership of BIM coordination

    WORKING PATTERN AND LOCATION

Full-time, permanent. London based, working with the CAD, design and project teams and attending project and coordination meetings as required.
