How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Blue Legal are currently partnered with a leading UK-headquartered law firm who are searching for a BD & Events Assistant to support the Business Development & Marketing team in London. With an international outlook, advising some of the world’s most recognised brands, fast-growth businesses and innovative start-ups, the firm’s work regularly spans multiple jurisdictions, covering global employment matters, international IP portfolios and complex cross-border transactions.

As a BD & Events Assistant, you will provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Business Development & Events team, helping to deliver a range of internal and external events and supporting wider BD and marketing activity. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within a law firm or professional services environment, with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to build effective relationships with lawyers, clients and external suppliers.

    The Responsibilities:

    • Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Business Development & Events Team, including scheduling meetings, managing the events calendar and monitoring the team mailbox across the London and US offices.
    • Assist with venue and supplier research, including hotels, restaurants, caterers, florists, photographers and other event suppliers.
    • Support the planning and delivery of events, including RSVP management, guest lists, name badges, event materials and shipping logistics.
    • Maintain, organise and order Events Team supplies, ensuring all materials are available when required.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve Events Team processes, systems and technology, helping to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
    • Coordinate internal meetings with limited supervision, arranging appropriate meeting rooms, visitor access, video conferencing, dial-in facilities and other logistical requirements.
    • Build strong relationships with lawyers, internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers and external contacts to ensure events and meetings are delivered to a high professional standard.

    The Candidate:

    • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
    • Previous experience within a law firm or professional services environment, ideally in a Business Development, Events, Marketing or similar support role.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
