How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

    Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well - established and growing building services company, covering the London area.

    This is a hands-on position carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical building services and M&E systems. You'll be responsible for fault finding, servicing and maintaining mechanical plant while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

    The Role

    As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

    Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
    Servicing and maintaining mechanical plant and building services equipment
    Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical issues
    Servicing pumps and pressurisation units
    Carrying out routine service inspections in accordance with PPM schedules
    Responding to breakdowns and call-outs
    Identifying faults and completing necessary remedial works
    Producing reports and relevant certification
    Completing and maintaining site logbooks
    Ensuring work complies with Health & Safety requirements and risk assessments
    Liaising with customers and tenants while on site
    Supporting small works and projects where required
    Minimising repeat visits through effective fault diagnosis and repairWhat We're Looking For

    You should have previous experience working within mechanical building services, facilities management or an M&E maintenance environment.

    Ideally, you will have:

    Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications
    Experience maintaining mechanical M&E systems
    Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
    Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
    Experience servicing pumps and pressurisation units
    Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
    Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
    Good communication and customer service skills
    Flexibility to undertake occasional out-of-hours and weekend workWhat's on Offer?
