The Green Recruitment Company is partnering with a leading European construction and engineering business with a growing presence in the UK.
As the business continues to expand its portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the UK, they are looking to appoint an experienced HSE Team Lead to provide leadership across multiple solar PV projects.
Job Summary:
This is a hands-on HSE leadership role, providing guidance and support across multiple utility-scale solar PV projects.
You will work closely with project teams, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure consistently high standards of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance, while supporting the business in developing robust HSE processes and a positive safety culture. The role would suit an experienced HSE professional from a renewable energy, energy, construction, infrastructure or utilities background who enjoys working across multiple projects and influencing teams at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee HSE processes across UK utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Provide HSE guidance and support to project and site teams.
- Conduct regular site visits, inspections and audits across the UK.
- Oversee risk assessments, RAMS, incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors meet required HSE standards.
- Maintain and continuously improve HSE procedures, systems and reporting.
- Advise, coach and support project teams on HSE matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation and industry standards.
- Help develop and embed a strong, proactive HSE culture across the organisation.
- Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to identify and address HSE risks.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior HSE or HSE leadership position.
- Experience working across multiple projects or sites.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
- Relevant HSE qualifications, including NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent.
- Relevant environmental and/or site safety qualifications.
- Experience within renewable energy, energy, construction, infrastructure or utilities.
- Strong understanding of RAMS, risk management, audits and incident management.
- Temporary Works Coordinator experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to UK project sites.
