How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Office Coordinator

Abingdon, Oxfordshire | Full-time | Residential refurbishment, conservation and heritage projects

We are looking for a highly organised Office Coordinator to become the operational centre of a small, growing construction and heritage restoration company working on some of the most interesting period and listed buildings in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.

    About Hill & Weatherall

Hill & Weatherall is a growing construction and heritage restoration company specialising in high-quality residential refurbishment, conservation and heritage projects across Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds and surrounding counties. Our approach is founded on three core values: Quality, Collaboration and Personal Service. We aim to provide an exceptionally organised and considered service from initial enquiry through to project completion.

    Role purpose

The Office Coordinator is central to the smooth running of the office, keeping enquiries, records, tenders, training, fleet and accounts administration coordinated accurately and on time. It suits someone who enjoys taking ownership of practical tasks and improving systems, and who will quickly become a trusted point of contact for clients, consultants and the wider team.

    Why join us

You will be the organisational centre of a small, established team working on genuinely interesting buildings - period properties, listed homes and conservation projects across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. The role has real breadth from day one and scope to grow into office management, compliance or estimating support as the business grows.

    What you'll be doing

    ·        Acting as the first point of contact for incoming calls and the enquiries inbox, directing everything to the right person.

    ·        Keeping the office running day to day - equipment servicing, stationery, first aid supplies and supplier liaison.

    ·        Coordinating site staff training, the company vehicle fleet and company-owned plant and equipment.

    ·        Supporting the pre-construction process: issuing and following up tender enquiries, collating tender packs and keeping supplier rates current.

    ·        Assisting with accounts administration - timesheets, expenses, purchasing and company insurances.

    ·        Coordinating marketing activity, from site photography and case studies to website updates and social media.

    Essential Requirements

    ·        Previous experience in an administrative, office support or business coordination role.

    ·        Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a professional and confident telephone manner.

    ·        Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

    ·        Excellent organisational, time-management and record-keeping skills.

    ·        A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    ·        The ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.

    ·        Sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information.

    Desirable Requirements

    ·        Experience within construction, property or professional services, ideally with a residential refurbishment, conservation or heritage contractor.

    ·        Experience supporting estimating, accounts administration, purchasing or marketing activities.

    ·        Familiarity with estimating or accounts software – for example Causeway, Sage or Xero.

    ·        A full UK driving licence.

    ·        Confidence with social media and website content tools.

No formal construction qualification is required. Training will be provided on Hill & Weatherall’s systems, processes and working practices.

    Salary and hours

    Competitive salary, dependent on experience.

Full-time, Monday to Friday, based at our Abingdon office.
