How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Interim Insurance Manager

    £500 per day (flexible) | 4 Month Contract with Possible Extension | Hybrid/Remote

    We are seeking an experienced Interim Insurance Manager to join a busy Local Government organisation on an initial 4 month contract, with the potential for extension.

    This is primarily a hybrid/ remote role, although the successful candidate will be required to attend the office initially to collect IT equipment and attend occasional meetings as required.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and manage the organisation's insurance function within a fast paced environment.
    Provide managerial and supervisory oversight to the insurance team.
    Support procurement and insurance related activities, ensuring compliance with Local Government regulations.
    Participate in the evaluation of insurance tenders and procurement exercises.
    Manage insurance placements and renewals, working closely with brokers and insurers.
    Deliver excellent customer service to internal stakeholders and external partners.
    Provide strategic insurance advice and support across the organisation.

    About You

    Strong insurance management experience, ideally gained within Local Government, Public Sector, or organisations dealing with public authority risks.
    Experience of insurance procurement and tender evaluation processes.
    Proven managerial and supervisory experience.
    Strong underwriting knowledge, particularly around insurance placements, programme design, and procurement activities rather than claims management.
    Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast paced environment.
    Excellent stakeholder management and customer service skills.

    Desirable

    Experience within Local Authority insurance functions.
    Candidates from the private sector will also be considered, provided they have broad insurance expertise and a strong understanding of public sector or public authority insurance risks.Rate: £500 per day (flexible depending on experience)
    Contract Length: 4 months initially, with possible extension
    Location: Hybrid/Remote (office attendance required for IT equipment collection and occasional business needs)
