How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client are a team of enthusiastic and collaborative planners, designers, environmental consultants, engineers and health & safety professionals. Their client base includes public and private sectors. They have grown significantly over the last few years and now employ 200 individuals across the UK.     About the Role

    Key Responsibilities

    Technical and managerial delivery of civils projects, including drainage, roads, and renewable sector opportunities.
    Client facing, comfortable leading bids and tenders, and exploring new opportunities – particularly in energy, defence and manufacturing sectors.
    Understand the development needs of team members and lead them to perform at their best.
    Liaising with our multidisciplinary groups and teams to provide our clients with a fully integrated approach to projects.

    About You

    Essential Skills & Experience

    Drive and ambition to succeed and support the business to do the same
    Relevant experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects and tasks
    Experience in an engineering consultancy, with particular expertise in project managing and delivering civils projects.
    Demonstrable technical excellence in civil engineering design
    In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and guidance
    Excellent communication (verbal and written) including production of clear and precise technical reports and effective presentation of findings/recommendations
    People management and staff mentoring experience beneficial
    Can work to tight timescales and manage multiple projects at once

    Qualifications

    You will hold a BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree to the role, experience and skills.
    You will be a Chartered Member of ICE, or as a minimum, demonstrably working towards chartership.

    Additional Information

    The role may require travel (including occasional overnight stays) across the UK and overseas, depending on project requirements
    A full clean driving licence is desirable
    Legal right to live and work in the UK is required
