How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Construction Manager - Clean and Dirty Water
    Sizewell, Suffolk
    £65,000 - £80,000 + package

    I'm currently working with a well-established civil engineering and utilities contractor who are looking to add an experienced Construction Manager to their team at Sizewell.
    The business is involved in delivering major infrastructure works within a highly complex and heavily regulated environment, with this role focused on the delivery of clean and dirty water infrastructure.
    This is a good opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager who has a strong background in water, utilities or civil engineering and is comfortable working on large-scale projects where safety, quality and programme are critical.

    The Role

    As Construction Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of clean and dirty water projects, working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
    Your responsibilities will include:

    Managing the delivery of clean and dirty water infrastructure projects
    Taking responsibility for site delivery, programme and productivity
    Managing Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors
    Coordinating multiple work fronts and construction activities
    Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and within budget
    Managing construction sequencing and buildability
    Monitoring progress and reporting against programme
    Working closely with the Project Manager and commercial team
    Managing subcontractors and supply chain partners
    Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements
    Managing construction risks and identifying opportunities to improve delivery
    Attending progress and coordination meetings with the client and wider project team
    Ensuring all site activities comply with the required health, safety, environmental and quality standards
    Supporting commissioning and handover activities

    About You

    I'm looking for someone with a strong construction management background, ideally gained within water, utilities, civil engineering or major infrastructure.
    You'll ideally have:

    Proven experience as a Construction Manager / Senior Site Manager / Project Manager
    Experience delivering clean water and/or dirty water projects
    Strong civil engineering and utilities experience
    Experience managing subcontractors and site-based teams
    Good understanding of construction sequencing, programme and buildability
    Experience working on large-scale or complex infrastructure projects
    Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
    Excellent communication and leadership skills
    Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
    Relevant construction qualification such as SMSTS, CSCS and relevant NVQ/HNC/HND would be advantageous
    Experience working within a highly regulated or security-conscious environment would be beneficial
