How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the supported living service.
Ensure people receive safe, effective, and person-centred support tailored to their individual needs and goals.
Promote independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion for the people supported.
Maintain a visible leadership presence within the service and provide hands-on support where required.
Foster a positive culture focused on quality, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
    Team Management

Lead, motivate, and develop Support Workers and Team Leaders.
Manage recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and performance management processes.
Conduct regular one-to-ones, team meetings, coaching sessions, and practice observations.
Ensure staffing levels and rotas are effectively managed to meet service needs.
Create an inclusive and supportive working environment that encourages development and retention.
    Quality, Compliance & Safeguarding

Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, health and safety legislation, and organisational policies.
Oversee support plans, risk assessments, behaviour support documentation, and health plans.
Monitor incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns, and complaints, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
Drive continuous improvement through audits, quality reviews, and action planning.
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, social workers, health professionals, commissioners, and other stakeholders.
    Financial & Operational Management

Manage service budgets responsibly and efficiently.
Monitor expenditure, staffing costs, and resource utilisation.
Contribute to occupancy, quality, and performance targets.
Ensure services operate in line with contractual and organisational expectations.
    About You

We're looking for a confident and compassionate Support Manager who combines strong operational leadership with a genuine passion for supporting people with complex needs.

    You will have:

Experience managing services within health and social care.
A strong understanding of learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and person-centred support.
Previous experience leading and developing frontline care teams.
Sound knowledge of safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, DoLS, and CQC regulations.
Experience managing incidents, risk, quality assurance, and compliance processes.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and electronic care management systems.
A positive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach to leadership.
    Desirable

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
Experience as a Registered Manager, Service Manager, or Support Manager.
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, behaviours of concern, or mental health requirements.
    Financial and budget management experience.
    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading disability support organisations and make a genuine difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism.

You'll have the autonomy to lead your service, develop your team, and create positive outcomes for the people you support while working within a supportive and values-driven organisation.

Whether you're currently a Support Manager, Service Manager, Registered Manager, Operations Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager ready for the next step, we'd love to hear from you.
