How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Optometrist (Refractive Experience Required) — Colchester | Part-Time, Fridays

    Chapter 2 is recruiting on behalf of our client, Optegra Eye Healthcare, for an experienced Optometrist to join their team in Colchester. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, developing business and benefit from a fully funded training programme. The role is part-time, 9.5 hours per week over one day (Fridays). Refractive experience is essential.

    The Role

    Working alongside consultants as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will carry out pre- and post-operative consultations and assess patients' suitability for treatment. Key responsibilities include:

    * Carrying out examinations associated with cataract surgery

    * Running acute and follow-up post-surgery clinics, documenting findings in the electronic medical record system

    * Providing health advice and support to patients attending the hospital

    * Providing first-line clinical advice and referring patients to a medical practitioner where appropriate

    * Maintaining awareness of the uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment within the clinical competency framework

    * Staying current with CQC policies and updates, attending all mandatory update courses

    Requirements

    * Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist

    * Extensive experience as an optometrist in a refractive, high street or hospital environment

    * Experience using patient administration and electronic medical record systems

    * Experience working to conversion targets and other KPIs within Vision Correction
