How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Pay Rate: £95-£110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

    About the Role

    Spencer Clarke Group is currently working with a range of welcoming schools across Preston who are looking for dedicated and experienced Qualified Teaching Assistants to join their teams.

    As a Qualified Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning, both within the classroom and through targeted one-to-one or small group interventions. Working closely with teachers and other members of staff, you will help to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified Teaching Assistants looking for flexible work, the chance to gain experience across a variety of school settings, or a longer-term role within education.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support pupils with their learning on a one-to-one and small group basis.
    Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective learning activities.
    Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil progress where required.
    Support pupils with a range of additional learning, social and emotional needs.
    Help to create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
    Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils to remain focused and engaged.
    Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of different learners.
    Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support pupil progress and wellbeing.What We're Looking For

    A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification, ideally Level 2 or Level 3.
    Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children and young people in an educational setting.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
    The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
    Confidence supporting pupils both independently and as part of a wider team.
    A genuine passion for education and supporting young people to achieve their potential.
