How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

The Electrochemist will play a key role in characterising cell performance, improving electrochemical understanding and supporting the development of advanced battery systems from materials through to cells, modules and packs.
Working across engineering, product, testing and commercial teams, you will help translate electrochemical insight into practical product improvements, influencing performance, safety, cycle life and scalability.

The Electrochemist will be responsible for:

Designing and conducting electrochemical experiments to evaluate cell performance and behaviour.
Analysing electrochemical data to identify performance improvements, degradation mechanisms and optimisation opportunities.
Supporting the development of next-generation cells through material, electrode and cell characterisation activities.
Collaborating with engineering, testing and product teams to translate findings into product improvements.
Supporting technical discussions with customers, partners and external collaborators.
Working closely with quality, operations, modelling and data teams to improve testing methodologies and performance understanding.
Contributing to intellectual property generation and technical documentation.
    The Electrochemist will have:

A PhD in Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience within electrochemical energy storage or energy conversion technologies.
Strong understanding of electrochemical characterisation techniques and data interpretation.
Experience investigating electrochemical interfaces, degradation mechanisms and cell performance.
Strong analytical skills and an enthusiasm for working with large and complex datasets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
This is an opportunity to work on a genuinely innovative energy storage technology at a pivotal stage of development. For more information, simply apply online using an updated CV and we will contact you shortly
