How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A fantastic opportunity for an HV Project Manager. We're looking for an experienced and motivated HV Project Manager to join our Connections Major Projects Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering major electricity connection projects that support our commercial customers in the transition to a low-carbon future.

As an HV Project Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of customer projects from planning through to completion, ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery. You'll work across a range of high-voltage connection schemes, including demand connections, distributed generation projects, network reinforcements and diversions.

This role would suit someone who has successfully managed a complex portfolio of projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll be agile, resilient and skilled at balancing competing priorities, building strong stakeholder relationships and managing demanding customers while maintaining a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience.

If you're passionate about delivering projects, building strong relationships and making a real impact for customers and communities, we'd love to hear from you.

    What you’ll be doing

You'll manage a portfolio of HV customer connection projects, taking responsibility for successful delivery throughout the construction phase and wider project lifecycle. Working closely with internal teams, delivery partners and customers, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

    Key responsibilities include:

Managing the delivery of HV connection projects up to and including 6.6kV/11kV.

Coordinating internal teams, contractors, suppliers and delivery partners to achieve project milestones.

Developing and maintaining project programmes, ensuring customers are kept informed throughout.

Liaising with Design, Support Services, Land Rights & Consents and Delivery Partners to ensure successful project delivery.

Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Managing project risks, issues and change controls to ensure successful outcomes.

Monitoring project performance, costs and forecasts, maintaining accurate records and reporting.

Carrying out site visits, inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety requirements.

Certifying contractor payments and approving project variations as required.

Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.

Holding regular progress meetings with stakeholders and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

Supporting and promoting a positive health, safety and customer-focused culture across all projects.

The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.

    What we’re looking for

We're interested in hearing from project professionals who can combine technical project delivery expertise with exceptional stakeholder and customer management skills.

We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:

    Essential

Experience managing HV electrical distribution projects.

Experience managing a portfolio of projects within the utilities sector.

    Experience delivering customer-facing projects.

Experience working within a regulated environment.

Strong knowledge and application of health and safety requirements.

Excellent planning, scheduling and project management skills.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Proven experience managing project risks and issues effectively.

Strong communication skills with the confidence to have challenging conversations, proactively manage expectations and resolve issues before they escalate.

Experience managing difficult or demanding customer situations while maintaining positive outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.

The ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and effectively manage expectations.

A genuine commitment to delivering the best possible customer experience.

The ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and make informed decisions.

A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.

    What we’re offering

This is an opportunity to work on projects that make a real difference to communities, businesses and the UK's energy future. You'll join a supportive and collaborative team where your expertise is valued, your development is encouraged and your contribution has a tangible impact. We value your expertise and in return, you’ll receive:

    * An annual bonus scheme

    * 25 days annual leave increasing with length of service
