About the role
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join a busy team based in Ampthill. As a Yard Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks as directed by the foreman, ensuring the yard remains organised, safe, and fully operational. This Yard Operative role is ideal for someone with previous labouring or yard experience who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
The successful Yard Operative will play a key role in maintaining equipment and supporting daily operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a Yard Operative looking for stable, long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position.
Key responsibilities
• Carry out general cleaning duties across the yard
• Assist with painting and basic maintenance tasks
• Support servicing of mobile units as required
• Load and unload cabins safely and efficiently
• Follow instructions from the foreman to complete daily tasks
• Maintain a tidy and organised working environment
Skills and experience required
• Previous experience in a labouring or Yard Operative role is essential
• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
• Good awareness of health and safety practices
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Must have Driving License for this role.
