As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an important role in leading the team, supporting the day-to-day running of the service and helping the people we support achieve greater independence and live the life they choose.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the staff team during shifts, ensuring the service runs safely and effectively.
* Promote person-centred support, dignity, choice and independence.
* Lead by example and create a positive, supportive team environment.
* Support colleagues with guidance, induction, training and development.
* Work closely with management, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
* Manage safeguarding concerns, risks, incidents, medication and daily service requirements appropriately.
* Ensure support plans, risk assessments and records are maintained to a high standard.
* Support audits, quality monitoring and compliance across the service.
* Apply the principles of the Mental Capacity Act and make appropriate decisions in the absence of management.
* Identify training and development needs and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the service.
Essential
* Experience within health and social care, supported living or a similar environment.
* Previous experience in a senior, supervisory or experienced support worker role.
* Strong understanding of person-centred support and safeguarding.
* Good communication, organisation and leadership skills.
* A genuine commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities to achieve greater independence.
* Motivation to develop your career and take on additional responsibility.
Desirable
* Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent.
* Previous Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience.
* Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and medication management.
* Experience supporting staff development, audits and care documentation.
