How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Assistant Merchandiser - Toys

North West Greater London / Buckinghamshire | Hybrid | £33-37k DOE

(On the London Underground Metropolitan line)

If you love retail, numbers, product and the thrill of a really good trade, this could be the role for you.

We're looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join a busy and commercially driven merchandising team, supporting the Senior Merchandiser across stores, online and some seriously exciting retail partners.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Merchandising Administrator or Assistant Merchandiser who is ready to take that next step, get closer to the numbers and really make an impact on how a business trades.

So, what will you be doing?

You'll be right in the middle of the action, helping the team make smart, commercially focused decisions across sales, stock and availability.

    You'll be:

Updating WSSIs, reviewing sales and stock and helping identify commercial opportunities.
Supporting in-season analysis, reforecasting and taking action to maximise sales and minimise risk.
Helping with budget, option count and depth of buy planning.
Working closely with Buying on range construction and product decisions.
Managing line detail and keeping a close eye on availability.
Producing analysis around product performance, line life, store performance and densities.
Pulling together historical data to support strategy and planning.
Getting stuck into weekly trade packs, adding commentary and confidently sharing your findings with the wider team.
Reviewing line prints and flagging those best and worst performers so action can be taken quickly.
Working with the branch merchandising team to optimise A&R parameters.
Building a really strong understanding of how products perform across different channels - and, more importantly, what we can do to improve that performance.
Supporting the Merchandising Administration Assistant and helping them develop along the way. What are we looking for?

You'll already be working in a retail merchandising environment, either as an Assistant Merchandiser or an experienced Merchandising Administrator who is ready for more responsibility.

We're looking for someone who is:

Commercially minded - you naturally want to know why something is happening, not just what the numbers say.
Analytical - Excel is your friend and you're comfortable working with data.
Inquisitive - you'll question, investigate and spot opportunities.
Super organised - detail matters, deadlines matter and you'll take pride in getting things right.
Self-motivated - you're happy taking ownership without needing someone checking over your shoulder.
Collaborative - you'll work closely with Buying, Merchandising and wider teams, so being a great communicator is key.
Positive and energetic - we want someone who brings a can-do attitude and genuinely enjoys what they do.Why join?

This isn't a role where you'll simply sit in the background updating spreadsheets.

You'll get genuine exposure to trade, forecasting, product performance, range planning and commercial decision-making, working alongside experienced Merchandisers and Buyers and seeing the impact of your work across multiple channels.

There's plenty to get your teeth into, lots to learn and real scope to develop your merchandising career.

    The essentials:
    North London / Buckinghamshire
    Hybrid working
    £33,000-£37,000 DOE
Excellent opportunity to develop your merchandising career

If you're an ambitious Merchandising Administrator ready to step up, or an Assistant Merchandiser looking for a role where you canown your area, get closer to the trade and keep learning, we'd love to hear from you.
