How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the role

We're recruiting experienced MIG and TIG welders for a busy manufacturing client in Huddersfield. You'll be welding structural and precision components to engineering drawings, working as part of a small, skilled team in a fast-paced industrial environment.

    Key responsibilities

Carry out MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding on steel and stainless components (and aluminium where required).

Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and job instructions.

Set up welding equipment, select correct consumables, and adjust parameters to suit material and thickness.

Perform fit-up, tack welding, and final welding to specification while controlling distortion.

Conduct self-inspection and basic quality checks; report any defects or non-conformances.

Use hand and power tools (grinders, saws, drills) and basic measuring equipment.

Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all health & safety procedures.

    What we're looking for

Proven experience as a MIG and/or TIG welder in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.

Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tolerances.

Strong focus on quality, safety, and meeting production targets.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Welding qualifications/certificates are advantageous but not essential if you can demonstrate strong practical ability.

    What we offer

    £16.00 per hour.

Ongoing work with a stable, well-established local manufacturer.

Clear pathway to permanent employment for the right candidate (if applicable).

Supportive team environment and regular hours.

    How to apply

If you're an experienced MIG/TIG welder based in or around Huddersfield and interested in this role, please send your CV or get in touch.
