How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Test Engineer
    £41'000 - £42'000 + Overtime + Company Van + Ongoing Training + 33 Days Holiday
Birmingham (Commutable from: Wolverhampton, Walsall, West Bromwich, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Coventry, Dudley, Bromsgrove)

Are you an Electrical Test Engineer looking to specialise further in inspection & testing, with ongoing training and clear long-term development? Do you have EICR experience across retail or commercial environments and want a sensible regional patch?

This is a secure, permanent position with a well-established national employer delivering high-quality testing across major sites. You'll be backed with ongoing training, a company van, and plenty of stability, while still developing your technical capability and responsibility over time.

You'll be joining a business focused on doing inspection & testing properly: accurate reporting, consistent standards, and engineers trusted to run their own workload. With long-term contracts and ongoing development, it's a role where good work is recognised, and you can build a future.

Working field-based, you'll complete periodic inspection & testing to BS 7671, produce clear EICRs, identify/categorise defects correctly, and provide practical remedial recommendations using digital reporting systems.

This role suits an inspection & testing Electrician who wants to develop and be recognised as a specialist, with longer-term progression available for the right person.

    The Role:

Periodic inspection & testing and EICR production across retail and commercial sites
    40 hours/week: Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:00, Fri 08:00-14:30 (times may vary by site requirements)
Secure, permanent position with a well-established national employer delivering high-quality testing across major sites.
    The Person:

Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
    ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician) + C&G 2391-52 (or equivalent) + C&G 2382 (18th Edition)
Looking to specialise further in inspection & testing, with ongoing training and clear long-term development
    Reference Number: BBBH(phone number removed)
