How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    šŸ•’ Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller & Turner to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business in Dudley. Working within a modern machine shop, you will be responsible for the programming, setting, and operation of CNC milling and turning machines, producing high-quality precision components for a range of engineering sectors. The company offers extensive machining capabilities, modern tooling, and a quality-focused manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Set, operate, and where required, program CNC milling and turning machines.
    Manufacture precision-engineered components to customer drawings and specifications.
    Work with a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and specialist alloys.
    Conduct first-off inspections and carry out in-process quality checks.
    Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tolerances.
    Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining methods.
    Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity.
    Ensure machines and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised.
    Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues across manufacturing, fabrication, and inspection teams.

    Requirements

    Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Turner, or CNC Machinist.
    Ability to program, set, and operate CNC machinery.
    Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
    Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
    Knowledge of Heidenhain, Fanuc, or similar CNC control systems would be advantageous.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Commitment to producing high-quality work to tight tolerances.
