How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Process & Documentation Lead Manufacturing

    Rugby

    £40,000 – £45,000

    Are you an experienced Process Engineer who enjoys getting under the skin of how things are made, improving processes and making sure the documentation behind them is right?

    We’re working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Rugby that is looking to appoint a Process & Documentation Lead to take ownership of manufacturing processes, technical documentation and process compliance across the business.

    This is a hands-on and influential role where you’ll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain and Project Management to ensure products can be manufactured safely, efficiently, consistently and to the required customer and quality standards.

    The Role

    * You’ll be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes for both new and existing products, while ensuring the documentation, controls and training are in place to support production.

    * Your responsibilities will include:

    * Developing manufacturing processes, process flows, tooling, fixtures, inspection methods and test procedures.

    * Creating and maintaining PFMEA, Control Plans and Process Flow Diagrams.

    * Managing manufacturing documentation including Route Cards, Bills of Materials, Work Instructions and Technical Specifications.

    * Ensuring robust document control, revision control, traceability and change management.

    * Supporting production readiness and introducing new or improved manufacturing processes.

    * Analysing manufacturing and test data to identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and process capability.

    * Delivering training to production teams on manufacturing processes and controlled documentation.

    * Ensuring manufacturing procedures are being followed and supporting corrective actions where required.

    * Supporting quality investigations using 8D and Root Cause Analysis.

    * Participating in audits and corrective actions.

    * Driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery and cost.

    * Supporting risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work and maintaining strong HSE standards.

    What We're Looking For

    * We’re looking for someone with solid experience developing manufacturing processes within an engineering or manufacturing environment, together with a strong understanding of controlled manufacturing documentation.

    * You’ll ideally have experience with:

    * Manufacturing/process engineering

    * Route Cards, Work Instructions and Technical Specifications

    * PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, PPAP and 8D

    * Document control and engineering change management

    * Working within an ISO 9001 environment

    * Root Cause Analysis and structured problem solving

    * Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing

    * Training or mentoring production personnel

    * Microsoft Office

    * A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline would be advantageous, although strong demonstrable industrial experience will absolutely be considered.

    Desirable Experience

    Experience within electric motor manufacturing would be particularly interesting, especially exposure to areas such as winding, rotor and stator assembly, lamination stacking, balancing and end-of-line testing.

    Knowledge of IEC 60034 or NEMA MG1 standards would also be highly beneficial, as would experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

    Why Apply?

    This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to take genuine ownership of manufacturing processes and documentation within a technically interesting engineering environment.

    You’ll have the opportunity to influence how products are manufactured, improve processes, support production teams and work across multiple functions rather than being confined to a purely documentation-based position.

    Location: Rugby

    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

    Role: Process & Documentation Lead

    Sector: Engineering / Manufacturing

    If you’re a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering Lead or similar and you're looking for a role where you can really make an impact, we’d love to hear from you
