About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You’ll ensure students remain on task and engaged, maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. This is an ideal role for individuals considering a future in teaching or education.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
Ensure students complete the work set by the teacher.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Provide feedback to the regular class teacher on student progress and behaviour.
Support students in understanding the tasks and encourage a positive learning atmosphere.
Uphold the school’s values and promote a safe and inclusive environment.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to work.
A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.

An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
